This story is about two woodpeckers who are in love and they are together when they realize that a huge storm is coming and the male woodpecker decides to go out and get food and supplies to prepare for the storm and told the female woodpecker to stay in the tree trunk and that he will come back to get her and they will both go to a safe place. Once the male woodpecker comes back the storm came too early and ruined everything and he couldn’t find the lady woodpecker and all the trees were mixed up and most of them fell and were damaged by the storm.He kept tapping on the tree trunks to see if she would be there but he couldn’t find her and that’s why still to this day woodpeckers tap on the tree because it is trying to find its lady woodpecker.

This book is inspired by a short story that my dad created and I decided to just do the illustrations for it and let the drawings represent the story rather than words.
